Should I lunge My Horse

This has been a question of mine. Should I lunge my horse? I have read tons of articles on lunging, and have found out, their are a lot of horse people out there with a lot of different opinions on it. Is it really necessary to lunge everytime before you ride? Or should lunging be mainly used for training purposes? I myself don't feel my horse needs to lunge everytime before a ride, but, maybe it's better for her.
